Clemson University (then Clemson College) formally opened in July 1893 and is based in Clemson, South Carolina. Around 17,000 students are currently enrolled at the university. It is a public university, divided into various colleges: Business and Behavioral Sciences; Education and Human Development; Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences; Architecture, Arts and Humanities; and Engineering and Science. All the bachelors, masters, doctors degrees and education specialist programs are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
